Country Full Name: The Independent State of Samoa.

Location: Samoa is in Oceania, and consists of a group of islands in the South Pacific Ocean, about half way between Hawaii and New Zealand.

Country Climate: Tropical; rainy season (November to April), dry season (May to October).

Country Terrain: Two main islands (Savaii, Upolu) and several smaller islands and uninhabited islets; narrow coastal plain with volcanic, rocky, rugged mountains in interior.

Major Languages: Samoan, English.

Major Religions: Christianity.

Country Economy: The economy of Samoa has traditionally been dependent on development aid, private family remittances from overseas, and agricultural exports. Agriculture employs two-thirds of the labour force, and furnishes 90% of exports.

City: Apia is the capital and the largest city of Samoa.

City Economy: Apia Harbour is by far the largest and busiest harbour in Samoa. Apia is served by a good road network, which is generally kept reasonably well maintained.
