Greenland, Nuuk - Cost of Living

The economy og Greenland remains critically dependent on exports of fish, whaling and textiles and substantial support from the Danish Government, which supplies about half of government revenues. The public sector, including publicly-owned enterprises and the municipalities, plays the dominant role in the economy.

Nuuk is the capital and largest city of Greenland. Nuuk is one of the smallest capital cities in the world by population.

Nuuk has an overall cost of living index which equates it with middle cost of living locations. The overall cost of living index is comprised of the prices for defined quantities of the same goods and services across all 13 Basket Groups.
