Moving to Bratislava

Today we look at moving to Bratislava in Slovakia from Kingstown in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. We highlight cost of living and other major differences likely to be experienced in our series of short blogs on moving between different international locations.
In Bratislava people speak Slovak. In Kingstown people speak English.

Bratislava is the capital of the Slovak Republic. Kingstown is the chief port of Saint Vincent, and the capital of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The Bratislava Region is the wealthiest and economically most important region in Slovakia, despite being the smallest by area and having the second smallest population of the eight Slovak regions. Kingstown is a centre for the island's agricultural industry and a port of entry for tourists. Exports include bananas, coconuts, and arrowroot.

The overall cost of living rank in Bratislava is 62 out of 300 global locations, which equates it with high cost of living locations.  An expatriate moving from Kingstown to Bratislava will experience a change in cost of living of 31.7%.
In terms of the hardship people are likely to experience, assessed in global terms, Bratislava is ranked as a high degree of hardship location with a hardship index of 30% compared to Kingstown with a hardship index of 20% which is a some hardship location.
