The international airport, Bauerfield International (VLI) is also located in the city. Major industries in the city remain agriculture and fishing. Tourism is also becoming important, especially from Australia and New Zealand. Pittsburgh is historically known for its steel industry, today its economy is largely based on healthcare, education, technology, robotics, and financial services.
The overall cost of living rank in Port Vila is 27 out of 300 global locations, which equates it with high cost of living locations. An expatriate moving from Pittsburgh to Port Vila will experience a change in cost of living of 51.6%.
