Port Stanley, Remote and Beautiful

Stanley in Falkland Islands is the capital city and only true city on the island, it is therefore also the main shopping area and the hub of the East Falkland's road network.

Located on the north-facing slope, which is the wettest part of the island, you are likely to experience weather that is cold and marine with strong westerly winds, cloudy, and humid. Rain occurs on more than half of the days in the year. The average annual rainfall is 24 inches and snow does fall in winter. The main language spoken is English.

The cost of clothing is average compared to other places. The cost of food and beverages as well as transport is high, while the cost of housing is very high.

From a day to day comfort perspective, you are likely to experience high degree of hardship.
