Assignment in Zagreb

Today I would like to discuss Zagreb in Croatia. If you were to be sent to Zagreb on an expatriate assignment or if you were to relocate there, you are likely to experience weather that is mediterranean and continental with mild winters and dry summers. You will meet people who speak Croatian.

The cost of clothing is high. The cost of food and beverages is very low. The cost of housing is very high. The cost of transport is average. Zagreb is the capital and the largest city of the Republic of Croatia.

Zagreb's transport connections, concentration of industry, scientific and research institutions and industrial tradition underlie its leading economic position in Croatia.

From a day to day comfort perspective, you are likely to experience high degree of hardship. Be sure to negotiate an appropriate salary or allowance to compensate for the cost of living. If you live in Zagreb or if you lived there recently, let us know what your experience has been. Would you live in Zagreb again?
